Design

For the 2024 model year, Chevy has returned the Trax as a completely redesigned model. The "new" model is longer and wider, and the interior has been completely overhauled. The cabin's material is what you'd typically find in a compact SUV, but everything else isn't. The longer wheelbase provides much more rear legroom, and amenities such as a remote start, heated front seats and steering wheel, and a sunroof give the Trax much more personality and convenience.

Performance

Powering every trim of the new Trax is a turbocharged 1.2-liter 137-hp three-cylinder engine. The engine is attached to a six-speed automatic transmission and uses front-wheel drive. According to the EPA, the Trax is a rather fuel-efficient model, with an estimated 28 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway.

Technology

The redesigned Chevy Trax is rebuilt from the ground up. As such, there is a wealth of new tech and amenities for Kahului drivers to enjoy. The Trax now features technology like an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen in the LS and 1RS trims. Though, in the LT, an 11.0-inch infotainment touchscreen and an eight-inch gauge cluster are standard. Additionally, there are features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Safety

When driving down the highway near Paia or the city streets of Makawao, the new Chevy Trax will keep you safe thanks to its suite of safety features called Chevy Safety Assist. This suite of safety features includes automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high beams.

Trims

There are five trims available for the 2024 Chevrolet Trax: LS, 1RS, LT, 2RS, and Activ.

LS: Riding on 17-inch steel wheels, the LS is a reasonably well-equipped model offering LED headlights, an eight-inch infotainment screen, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.

1RS: The 1RS adds to the LS design with new visual flares and added technology. Sitting on 18-inch alloy wheels, the 1RS offers a revised front & rear fascia and a heated flat-bottom steering wheel. The 1RS also has all the features offered in the LS Convenience package.

LT: The LT builds off the LS trim with new amenities such as automatic climate control, an 11-inch touchscreen, and a six-speaker audio system. Also available are 17-inch alloy wheels and roof rails.

2RS: The 2RS is a sporty trim offering features from the LT Convenience package. This model also sits on 19-inch alloy wheels and has keyless entry, heated/power-adjustable mirrors, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel.

Activ: This is the highest trim available, and it has all the same features as the 2RS and the LT Convenience package. But exclusive to this model are creature comforts like a power-adjustable driver's seat.
