An in-transit vehicle could be one that has been built by the GM factory and is now in the process of being shipped to our dealership at Jim Falk Motors of Maui in Kahului HI. It could also be a vehicle that you custom-order from the factory. If you don't see the vehicle you want in our current inventory, you can order an in-transit vehicle. Here is a little more information about how the process works.
What's the advantage of ordering an in-transit vehicle?
When you reserve an in-transit vehicle, you can be assured that it will be available to you before anyone else can buy it. That means you can, for example, reserve an in-transit Chevy Silverado 1500 truck, a Chevy Equinox SUV, GMC Sierra 1500 pickup, or a Cadillac Escalade in advance. When that vehicle arrives at our dealership, you can be the first to test drive it and make sure it's the one you want.
Am I obligated to take the in-transit vehicle I reserve?
No, putting your name on an in-transit vehicle that's already on its way to our dealership simply gives you the right to buy it when it gets here. If you take it for a test drive and find that it's not the one you want, you are under no obligation to buy it. You can simply tell us that this vehicle didn't meet your expectations and you can move on to another vehicle. It's a complete win/win situation for you as the customer.
What's the process of ordering an in-transit vehicle?
At Jim Faulk Motors in Maui, we have streamlined the process of ordering and reserving a vehicle in transit. First, get in touch with our dealership and talk with one of our team members about which Buick, GMC or Cadillac model you are most interested in. You can provide your contact information so we can reach out to you at your home in Paia or Waihee-Waiehu HI as soon as your requested in-transit vehicle arrives.
What if I want to custom-order a vehicle from the factory?
If you're custom-ordering a vehicle,we will help you select your car, truck or SUV to fit your exact preferences. For example, you'll want to decide which kind of drivetrain you prefer. You'll also want to specify the interior and exterior colors you're interested in. You might want optional convenience, comfort or technology features like a premium stereo system, a power-adjustable driver's seat or a panoramic sunroof.
How can I order an in-transit vehicle that's already been built?
These vehicles aren't yet on the lot but they will be available soon and they will be ready to drive as soon as they get here. You can look over our list of in-transit vehicles and if you find one you really like, you can reach out to us and reserve it in your name. You won't be under any obligation to buy this vehicle but you will be the first in line to drive back to your home in Makawao HI once that vehicle arrives.
How can I track my in-transit vehicle's progress?
If your vehicle has been ordered from the GM factory, we can provide updates on the progress of your vehicle as it makes it way through the factory. We can also provide any other updates on your in-transit vehicle when we get that information as it travels over the road on the way to our dealership.
